Within the scientific and technical sphere the Concern strategy is worked out by two advisory bodies: Council for Scientific and Technical Problems and Advisory Council.

Council for Scientific and Technical Problems monitors process of nanotechnology development all over the world and makes recommendations on the most promising R&D trends, defines key lines of activities and controls scientific activity of the Concern subdivisions, organizes scientific seminars.

Advisory Council for Nanotechnology Development and Application unites leading Russian scientists and experts on nanotechnologies in the sphere of chemistry, physics, novel materials and coatings, biology, medicine, etc. The Council coordinates R&D activities of the Concern multidisciplinary team.

The Concern scientific and technological core is the Institute for Nanotechnologies of (INAT) - a non-governmental and non-profit organization that was established in 1996. The major trend of the INAT activities covers elaboration, development and industrial application of nanoengineering and nanotechnology devices and facilities, as well as equipment development and production to perform technological processes at the atomic-molecular level. The Institute has a laboratory base and pilot-line production.

Concern engages in its activities experts and specialists on nanotechnologies that have potential in respect to commercial activity, offers an opportunity realize their scientific and technological potential and put developments into practice.

The infrastructure embodies the Concern subsdivisions, which are responsible for the activities on commercialization of scientific and technological and other products, services, as well as for professional education and training.

Educational and Training Center (Nanocenter):

• develops introductory educational courses on nanoengineering and nanotechnologies, laboratory practical works;
• provides advanced professional training and practical training of senior students and improvement of the proficiency level of professors and experts;
• organizes scientific seminars on nanoengineering and nanotechnologies.

Nanocenter also carry out applied R&D using nanoengineering. Students and post-graduates are actively involved in this work.

Center for Technology Commercialization: makes analysis of markets and recommendations on the strategy of marketing for Russian and foreign markets; carries out works on preparing and introducing innovation products to the markets; makes search for strategic partners - producers, non-government financing and investors. Besides, the Center offers information and analytical and other services related to nanoindustry and business development.

"Nanoengineering and Nanotechnologies in Russia" exhibition is one of the effective instruments to advance technologies and finished products. The exhibition presents developments of enterprises and organizations - members of Concern and its partners as well.
